Sean O’Brien from Dublin began his dancing career at the age of three with the Carol Carberry School of dancing in Dublin. Competing in his first competition at the age of four, Sean soon excelled and became a successful champion dancer placing first in the Dublin and Leinster Championships five years consecutively and won three All Ireland titles, his first at the age of ten. At the age of fourteen, Sean moved to a larger organisation, An Comisiun le Rinci Gaelacha to the O’Shea Irish dance school where he is currently still competing.
His greatest achievements within the school have been winning another seven Leinster Championships, placing first in the British National Championships and placing second in the World Championships on two occasions.
Sean is trained in a hybrid of dance genres such as tap, jazz-ballet and contemporary dance. Appearing on stage was a regular occurrence for Sean who attended the Billy Barry Stage School from the age of 5 and has made numerous television appearances including The Late Late Toy Show and the RTE and TG4 GAA All-Star events for the last two years. He has performed professionally in Emerald Beat in Virginia, USA where he has three years experience and is very much in demand as a performer both and home and abroad.
As well as being a professional dancer, Sean is a full time University student. He has recently completed his undergraduate degree in Social Science from University College Dublin and has been offered a place in the Masters of Social Science in UCD.
